I AM THE BERTMAN
Shannon is a Minnesota born artist who has been performing for over 25 years. She began in dance at a young age and continued on to musical theatre, dramatic theatre, film and television. She had been singing with bands of all genres for nearly a decade, but once the rockabilly rhythm caught her, she never looked back. Shannon's voice carries over an array of styles, from the dulcet tones of doo wop ballads to the guttural growl of the blues. She also enjoys knitting, baking and loves her cats, Jimmy and Henry.
Cad has an impressive resume of experience beginning in 1963 with the Pastel Six, best known for their song "Cinnamon Cinder". Since then, he has played with many notable figures, including Eddie Cochran, Lil Elmo and the Cosmos, and Hank Ballard and the Midnighters and has played such stages as the Las Vegas Tropicana and Caesar's Palace. He brings a powerful sound and plays a key role in The Moontones.
Daniel "Dexter" Krohn
Daniel Krohn aka “Dexter” is a former Marine, serving our country for 8 rigorous years (2005-2013). He has been playing Trumpet for the better half of his life, 25 years; starting in 3rd Grade. Notably, he has played alongside professional musicians such as The Brian Setzer Orchestra Trumpet players, members of Earth, Wind and Fire and had opportunities to play music for Hollywood movies. At an early age, he fell in love with music and the Big Band era, Doo Wop, Rhythm and Blues, Rockabilly and of course Oldies but Goodies. Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie were his idols, to name a few, and he strives to play just as good as they did. Music has taken him places he never dreamt of and looks forward to watching all you come out and dance.
Music has always been an essential part of Enrique's life. Enrique started playing the saxophone in the 5th grade and played in concert, marching, pep, and jazz bands throughout high school and college.
While in college he made the switch to drums and song writing for varies LA based rock bands. While still active in the music scene, it had been over 10 years since he had last played a note on his sax. However, that all changed when Enrique met Moontones' drummer Lino Luna at the Mooneyes Carshow. The two musicians hit it off and Enrique found himself dusting off his sax and picking up right where he left off 10 years ago.
Enrique is extremely excited to be a member of the Moontones and feels honored to be playing under the mentorship of lead Moontones' saxophonist, Cad. Enrique looks forward to playing for you and can't wait to see you on the dance floor!
Lakshmi Ramirez is a Professional Upright Bassist. He attended the Conservatory of Music, Major in Double Bass, at the University of Santo Tomas and completed London Trinity Jazz with Distinction. He started playing professionally with Manila Philharmonic Orchestra starting 2001. But his love for vintage music, culture, and everything in the era of the 20’s until the late 50’s led him towards swing, jump blues, rockabilly, doo wop, trad jazz, western swing, boogie woogie, big band and all of the great fun music during that era. This brought him to perform in different places locally and internationally.
